THE BROOKS RESIDENCE:

Carol and John Brooks
In a remote Montana area-

This residence and guest house-garage is off the power grid & generates it's own electricity with a wind turbine and photovoltaic solar panels that track the suns path. The logs used to construct the residence were dead standing trees from Cody Wyoming. The appliances and lighting was tailored to use much less electricity requiring less load. The heating system is an energy efficient propane fired boiler heating the in floor hydronic piping and the hot water tank. The flooring is recycled wood planks.

The site is a very dramatic area of aging granite spires. Stone found at the site during excavation was used on the fireplace and in landscaping. Bear, moose, deer, and other wildlife frequent this residence.
